History

DIANA Yacht Design was founded in 1971 by three Dutch engineers:

• Joost Beekman, naval architect and former head of the drawing room at famous yard ‘G. de Vries Lentsch’ in Amsterdam.
  
• Cor van der Wiel, marine engineer, also from ‘G. de Vries Lentsch’.
  
• Kees Kolff, freelance electrical engineer, who also worked between 1972 and 1984 as chief electrical designer at the Feadship yard Van Lent at Kaag. Kees is still with the company as senior advisor.
  

Over the years DIANA has employed specialists in a wide variety of disciplines, including naval architects, interior designers, mechanical, electrical and pipe system enigneers. In 1987 the office moved from Amstelveen to the historical city of Haarlem.

Early innovators
During the upcoming of the luxury motor yacht market near the end of 1970, DIANA revolutionized yacht design by introducing major and minor innovations like unique hull designs, progressive engineering and contemporary styling. With her innovative yachts, DIANA put Dutch Design on the map. DIANA proudly looks back upon her creation of many famous classic yachts, including:
