Elegance Information
Elegance yachts are part of the Drettmann Group which was founded in 1970 as a German family-owned enterprise. Over the course of the years, it has developed into a luxury yacht dealer of international renown.
Currently, some 85 employees work for the Drettmann Group at 15 bases internationally. A partnership with the Horizon Group ensures continual product innovations.
Claudia and Albert Drettmann maintain very close and intense relationships with their customers. Customer proximity thus takes on top priority in the enterprise. Understanding and implementing the wishes and ideas of customers are the core focus of the Drettmann Group. This is what accounts for the unique success of its many brands.
History
1970:Traute and Dierk Drettmann found the Drettmann Yacht Agency. Import of the first Dutch Tjeukemeer cruisers.
1972: First presentation at the hanseboot Hamburg. A location is established in Weyhe-Dreye for the company’s pre-owned boat business.
1978: Establishment of D.D. Yachtbau with in-house shipyard in Weyhe-Dreye. Import of Dutch Neptunus yachts; sales have risen during the past few years to over 700 units.
1993[//b]: Traute and Dierk’s son Albert Drettmann joins the company as Managing Director. Construction commences on the first seven yachts in partnership with the Horizon Shipyard.
[b]1994: First presentation of Drettmann’s Elegance Yacht model range.
1995: The company Drettmann International S.L. is founded in Porto Andratx on Majorca.
1996: Presentation of the first Elegance 82 at the “boot” in Düsseldorf, the world’s largest indoor boat fair.
1997: Expansion of the headquarters in Weyhe-Dreye, near Bremen.
1998: Presentation of the new Elegance range designed by Tomaso Spadolini. Import of yachts from the Norwegian Scand Shipyard.
1999: Import of Cobalt sport boats from America. Establishment of Drettmann Yachting S.L. in Porto Portals, Majorca.
2000: Drettmann base in El Gouna, Egypt is opened.
2001: Drettman base in Marittima, Italy is opened.
2004: Albert Drettmann takes over management of the company. Drettmann Yachts Croatia d.o.o. established in Rogoznica, Croatia. Drettmann sales base opened in St. Petersburg, Russia.
2006: Drettmann sales base opened in Dubai. Drettmann base opened in Athens.
Relocation of the company headquarters to Bremen. Construction of a new main office directly on the Weser River in Bremen. Construction commences on the first 130-foot mega-yacht.
2007: New and exclusive main office opened directly on the Weser River in Bremen-Hemelingen. All technical units as well as consulting, sales and service are efficiently housed here in generously-sized premises Establishment of the Drettmann France subsidiary in Port Camille Rayon on the Côte d’Azur. World premiere and presentation of the Bandido 90 at the “boot” in Düsseldorf: a robust explorer yacht for Atlantic crossings.
2008: The new clothing line Drettmann Labels is launched. First Class Pre-Owned Yachts is introduced as a seal of quality for Drettman’s pre-owned yacht line. The Refit by Drettmann programme is launched as a yacht modernisation and upgrade programme for used boats. “Drettmann goes mega”, launching mega-yachts together with its partner, Horizon.
