History

50 years ago Ed Conijn started building the popular Flying Dutchman boats. Shortly after he launched his first cruising yacht, the Contest 25. This design was an immediate international success and served as the foundation of the company. Many new models were designed in the next decennia and Conyplex grew into a yacht builder of global stature. In the last 15 years the emphasis has shifted from serial building to semi-customised yachts between 45 and 60 feet. Contest Yachts has always been a family company with actually the third generation in charge.

The yard

Contest Yachts will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2009. Throughout this half a century of success, the yard has always kept the entire production process in its own hands. This guarantees customers the highest possible standards.

In cooperation with their renowned designers, leading research institutes and the best suppliers, they are always looking for innovative and suitable solutions to optimise their yachts. This has resulted in a wide range of high quality performance cruisers that have found their way all over the world.
